Learn to scuba dive at Reading Central Pool.

Meeting Place:
Central swimming Pool, Battle Street,
Reading Berkshire.
Time: Every second Thursday 9-10 pm

 

Step 1 - TRY-DIVE
An introduction to scuba diving consisting of a pre-dive briefing
when an instructor will cover safety procedures followed by
approx. 1 hour in the pool.
The lesson includes using diving equipment and diving techniques,
such as mask clearing and exchanging underwater signals.

Step 2 - Club membership and Ocean Diver training

Before you begin your training you must satisfy the diving
officer that you are medically fit to dive.
You will be given a self-declaration medical form
which you must complete and return to the club.
If there are any concerns you may be required to obtain
a full medical from a doctor.

The club can supply equipment (except diving suits) for use during
training sessions. You may wish to purchase your own set of basic
equipment (mask, fins, snorkel), this will cost about £60.

If you decide to continue scuba training you can join the club and
commence the BSAC OCEAN DIVER course,
this will qualify you to dive anywhere in the world.
It involves a commitment to 6 pool sessions and 8 theory lessons,
followed by an exam and 6 open water dives.
